Mudkip is strong in the beginning, but weak versus the Elite Four. Mudkip is a good choice if playing Pokemon Ruby. Treeko is the best to choose if you are playing Pokemon Sapphire because of Team Aqua.

Finding Latios/Latias part 1
After beating the Elite 4 and watching a TV program about Latias/Latios at your home, either Latias or Latios will be available for capture in the game. As stated already above, in Sapphire it’s Latias, in Ruby it’s Latios. Latias or Latios will be out in the wild, in the entire map. There’s no telling where it could be, it appears randomly in the entire map. Using the Eon Ticket, you can catch the other Pokemon. The Eon Ticket is special item you can use in the game. This item can not be obtained in the game itself. You must recieve this ticket from a Nintendo promotion. Using the Eon Ticket, you can board the S.S. Tidal from Lilycove City to the Souther Island. At the Southern Island, you will meet either Latias or Latios. In Ruby, you’ll see Latias. And in Sapphire, you’ll see Latios.
Catching Latios Easily
To catch latios easily, Make sure that you have your Wynaut you get or a Wobbafet. Also the reason is that Latios runs away on the first turn you find it. If you have a Master Ball with you, that’s perfect. Surf South Mossdeep City and surf around for awhile. Now you will have a legendary bird. But remember you have to defeat the Elite Four.

Mirage Island
Mirage Island is seeable every day on your Pokedex: It’s the big blank spot on Route 131, right before Route !30. You will see and island mass of land above it. So, the trick to making it appear is that…there is no trick. Sadly, the island appearing is a complete random event, and there is absolutely no way of making it appear like that. But, it will occasionally appear. You must talk to the man in Pacifidlog who is watching out the window for Mirage Island. If her says that he can see it, Surf to that spot. The island will be there, and you an enter. The island will remain there until exactly midnight, so make sure you get everything you need. Oh yes, a few kinds of rare berries are fond ONLY on Mirage Island, so make sure you take some while you’re there. It is quite likely that the island will appear only once in your entire game. You cannot even get these berries from the Berry Master’s Wife, so be sure to take some when you’re there!

The Pokemon comes with a rare berry. I also got my Jirachi this way (they asked if I had him, I said no and they gave me one.) You can get Dexoys and Jirachi in the game without gameshark, action replay, or code breaker. People have been saying that you get them if the number the man says is between somethin and somethin. But that is only the amount of weeks you have been playing. Anyway, look on your trainer card after you get all 8 badges. You should see a star by your picture of the trainer. After you get 180 to 200 pokemon you should get another star. Another star is by winning the master rank in all contest so you can get your picture of the pokemon in the art museum. And the last one is by winning a 100 streak victory in the battle tower (it does not matter which level of the battle tower you participate in (Lv. 100, Lv. 50)).
